Fucking beat
Jun. 23rd, 2003 01:59 pmI'm so tired. I've been really busy lately being social and things. Saturday, I decided to after all hope for the best with my dad and bought the Harry Potter book. However, I didn't get much time to read it because I bought it in the late afternoon and went to Harvey's Comedy Club with Jeff (
safetygoth and a bunch of other people, only 2 or 3 of which I'd met before. It was ok, but I'm not a big fan of sex jokes and there were a lot of those. Then Jeff, Jeremy, Ben and I all gamed at Jeff's for a while. I got to see Chris D (since he lives there) too, which was nice. I need to get started figuring out my GURPS one-shot.
diantha was going to get back to me on whether or not
penumbrafox was interested, but I haven't heard from either of them, so I suppose I need to make some phone calls. Jeff and Chris D. both seemed interested if it fit their schedules.
Anyway, we played Feng Shui, which is making fun of action/martial arts movies. It's the second game I've played in that system, and I always feel a bit lost since I don't follow the movie genre at all. We played a set of brothers who were probably supposed to be doing something more constructive than what we did, which involved shooting and kidnapping people on a very mild pretext (they had a grenade launcher, so they must be part of The Plot) with no clear idea of why we should do so. Also Jeff's character almost starting beating up an old lady on a flimsy pretext because he wasn't paying attention and thought one of the guys we were kidnapping had said something when it was a little old lady bystander. Whee. Got home after 4 am from that.
Sunday, I, of course, had to get up early, go over to mom's house, and help her pick up Grammy from the airport. Since I spent some time reading Harry Potter before bed, I'd gotten less than 4 hours of sleep. Whee. I coped pretty well all day, though. Lots of caffeine. Finished Harry Potter that evening, just over 24 hours after I bought in Boo. First time I didn't finish one of those books in a day. I would have if I hadn't had gaming and grammy to deal with, though. Anyway, Now I don't need to worry about spoilers anymore. Whee!
Today, I am going to go listen to Heather Alexander (http://www.heatherlands.com/) at the Multnomah Lucky Lab. Here is info for anyone wanting to join me:
