Reminder to myself, [livejournal.com profile] qousqous and whoever else was thinking of meeting us there ([livejournal.com profile] clipdude? [livejournal.com profile] ellipsisdbg? Other people who I've forgotten?): DDR at the Wunderland that's part of the Avalon (SE 35th and Belmont) at 1315 Friday. We will be pathetic, lack rhythm, be out of breath, and be routinely outdanced by middle school boys. (I seem to remember that middle school boys wouldn't dance at school dances when I was in middle school. Do they now?) Go us. I can't remember quite what admission costs (over $2 but under $3?), and DDR is $0.25 a game in nickels. The DDR machine is in the back room at the bottom. Don't bother with the fake DDR at the top of the room, the sensors don't register very well and need much stomping. Whee.

Hopefully, my back won't be sore by then. Otherwise this could be interesting/painful.

I'll be there

I'll be there.

By the way, I know I went to different middle schools than you, but when I was in middle school, my friends and I totally danced at dances.

I want to play the game where you bicycle around in the ultralight and run into balloons!

middle school dances

We didn't have dances in the 6th grade. (I wasn't in middle school yet, since my district still had K-6 schools at that time.) In 7th grade, I was on the (geeky) audio crew, so I didn't get to dance. In 8th grade on, though, I danced with girls.

The trick was to view dancing as an act that could be romantic, but could also be merely friendly. In high school, I danced with a lot of girls that I wasn't interested in (and they weren't interested in me) just for fun.

damn, damn and double damn. DDR is loads of fun, but the only real arcade around here is gameworks, a huge glitzy-arcade-thingy with a bar and grill inside wherein you have two choices: either put cash onto a game-card, and then play games at an average of 75 cents a pop, or wait for a few of the "time play" days in the week, where you can pay like 25 bucks for a couple of "free-play" hours, and the place is packed.....
If I were the entrepreneurial type, I'd open a wunderland franchise in seattle....but until then I'll just pine for cheap video games.....have fun...=)

Well, the "motorized vehicle" idea is still in the works.......I think that I may be able to get the cost of owning and driving an actual car (like, with 4 wheels and all) down to a conservative 130 bucks a month or so......
