Birthday Party Planning

So, my birthday is coming up in about a month. I'm thinking party. My guess is that most of you would rather have the party happen in Portland than Eugene. I know some of you would probably like to make arguments for other cities, but unless those arguments include a free place for me to have the party, free lodging for me on the relevant night, and a really good plan for dragging the rest of the Portland/Eugene people along, I think I'll limit myself to those two cities.

My birthday also falls on Mother's day weekend, so Sunday's out. (My birthday is actually on Monday, May 15th.) The 13th is my name day, so it makes a good day for a party anyway. Anyway, this is just a preliminary testing-of-the-waters to see what I might want to start planning.

I'm going to have to be tentative on if/when I can come. My brother was born 362 days after you, and thus if ∃ his party, it might conflict.

I would love to come, but unfortunately most of the weekends in May, I am out of town.

Bah. I won't try to shift weekends around if all of them stink for you, but maybe I'll try to have some kind of (non-birthday-related) get-together in another few months or something.

I have a hard time answering, because I don't know what my schedule will look like in a month. But:
If the party is in portland, I could maybe come. I would be more likely to come if it were held somewhere more centrally located than your dad's house, because I don't drive and it's hard for me to get out there (usually I can count on qous for a ride, but he probably won't be around).
I would be much more likely to come if it were held in Eugene, assuming I don't have a mountain of homework.

Do you know of any centrally located (in Portland) bowling alleys or mini-golf courses? All I really know is the stuff around my dad's house, but I don't have an emotional attachment to the crappy mini-golf course on Jenkins or anything. I do have a (non-emotional) connection to one of the bowling alleys out there because it's my dad's home alley (he takes bowling pretty seriously these days; after someone else backed out he was invited to Nationals this year, but couldn't go for cost reasons), but I don't mind going someplace else as long as the prices are similar/cheaper.

If more people don't respond to the poll (the count is currently at 2), I'm going to guess that the will just isn't there for a big party this year and probably just do a Portland dinner on Saturday and a Eugene dinner on Monday or something. I'll give it another week or so, though.

there's a good bowling alley in hollywood, hollywood bowl i think. grand central bowl is no long eopen, alas.

don't know about mini golf at all.

may or may not actually be able to come, but i don't think i'd make it down to eugene. saturday would be best.
