Summer barbecue?

Supposedly, my dad is going to fix up and give me his old propane barbecue (which he doesn't need since he has one that's hooked up to the house gas line) in a few weeks. I've read my rental agreement, and I can't find anything that says no barbecues on decks, and a walking tour of the complex shows that other people have them, so I am shortly going to have outdoor food-on-fire-related possibilities at my apartment.

As a result, I would like to have a party. It will double as a really late housewarming. As I have a two bedroom, there will be plenty of floor-based crash space for those from out of town. To avoid a repeat of the birthday party everyone-is-busy-then thing, I'm going to run a poll to see if there exists a good weekend this summer for people. Bear in mind that this amazing event will be taking place in Eugene, so those of you you live places Really Far Away from Eugene are excused automatically unless you own private planes, in which case I want to know why you never take me anywhere in them. Meanies.

I like barbecues! I do not know of any particular plans on any of those weekends as of right now. However, my life is full of Sudden Changes of Plan so I am not making any promises.

I'm going to go to Montana around the 27th of July, and go from there to Europe, to return September 25. So I won't make it between those dates.

Ironicly, you seem to have skipped the one weekend I might actually be able to make it! I'm going to be in Oregon July 29th-Aug 8th, but the 30th is Jessicas rehersal dinner (and also I would be stuck out in the LC area carless). Probably best not to stress out the bride too much, but depending on the timing there is a small possibility I could come then. (or at least maybe we could do lunch while I'm in town?) Jim is coming, too- and think you too would get along well!

I have some free time the weekend of August 6th and 7th as well, but since I have a training on that friday I didn't want to commit to throwing a big party that weekend. If that's when would work out to hang out with you, though, I could totally make time to see you in whichever Oregon locale would make sense for you.

Ah, lets totally meetup then! Jim, unfortuantly, will be leaving only a few days after the wedding (and those are allready pretty much slated for 'family' time with my folks). But, with any luck there will be time for you to meet him sometime later ;)

Oh, and you know Eugene is not far from Corvallis, so if the training is in Eugene coming there could possibly be quite convient for me.
