I am not generally a political-type poster, and I don't really intend to go on about it much this time either. However, I need to go on about it for a little bit, so bear with me.

Last night, I got "but in purple, I'm stunning" level drunk. I am still so upset that I don't even have anything intelligent to say. I feel that my state has basically told almost everyone I know to go fuck themselves and that they're not real people. I just don't even know what to say.

Well, I do know one or two things to say. One of them is just "fuck" repeated a great many times. The other is that I am very sorry for making a drunken ass of myself, and I'd especially like to thank rathanylakan, shademalek, and xiara for drunk-sitting my hysterical drunken self.

It was nice to see people from high school at the party, too. I hadn't seen Ben or Daniel since I graduated. It's so odd how people keep growing up even when you don't see them anymore. Also, Daniel, I seem to have gotten drunk on your cognac and then repeatedly insisted that you are 12 years old. I am sorry.

I need to find a new method of political protest, as being very drunk is both ineffective and irritating to my friends. Suggestions? I'm about three quarters of the way toward making activism my main focus and becoming one of those loud protester types, but I may be too depressed to even leave the house.

I'm used to this country being full of asshats on a federal level, but I really expected better out of my home state.

I'm rather disappointed on measure 36, I woulda been so proud if gays were allowed to marry in Oregon. fucking homophobes.

Anyway, yeah, at least the margin for Oregon was pretty small compared to the ten other states that had similar measures up. I think one of them (Missouri?) passed at like 98%. >_<;;

He was; she's thinking of Londo, who is indeed from Babylon 5 (and featured in the relevant quote). Very different characters, although, being both a big geek and a communication major, I could totally talk about similarities between them as well. However, that will have to wait until I don't feel like throwing up. I cannot tell if it is an aftereffect from the alcohol or simply the crushing weight of my disappointment in my fellow man. It could easily be both.

Oh, wow, Haven't been able to do much with looking at what passed where, but are there states that defined marriage as just between two people?

or is it that this state shot down the measure that badly?

Eleven states, including Oregon, had measures on the ballot to *ban* gay marriage; all of them passed. *sigh*

Consider all forgiven and mostly forgotten, except for the funny bits like "Grido shot first!" (because right now, I need more funny bits in my life). And the being called hot, because really, I never get enough of that.

...Right, anyway, I'll stop incriminating you now =P *snuggles* We nub you, and we wanted to make sure you were okay. On my part at least, it was my choice to help out where I could and I was glad to do it. So yeah, in my book, thanks aren't even necessary. ^_^
