Someone finally noticed

I just went to Office Depot to pick up a letter opener for my grandmother (it's her birthday, and she doesn't have one and thought mom's was cool last time we were over there) and the clerk actually noticed that I'd crossed "God" off of the "In God We Trust" on the back of all of my money. That's the first time that's happened, and I've been doing it for about two years. So yay, I guess. I'm not really doing it to get noticed, but I was wondering if anyone ever would. I think the fact that I was paying with $8 in ones had a lot to do with it.

I have an hour to bake a cake for grammy's party tomorrow before people get here for my barbecue tonight. I am so organized. This is clearly why I'm on LiveJournal right now.

Heya - I just stopped by to tell you I love your icons (the style that you also use for your mood icons.) I suspect you make them yourself, do you have any up for adoption? I especially love the broken heart and computer/eye ones, if you make them a lot you should consider posting to icon making communities cause they are good stuff. :)

Thank you! Yes, I do make them myself. Unfortunately, I don't have Photoshop on this computer (I am one of the very few people in this world who actually owns a legitimate copy, but the computer that it's on isn't on the internet right now), and I haven't really been able to get them to come out quite as nicely in GIMP (the music note, money, and no money icons were made in GIMP, and they just seem muddy and don't really "glow" like the other ones do, which is probably because I haven't figured out the right brush yet), so I haven't been making new ones lately. I'd prefer if you didn't use the ones I've made so far, since I like being the only person on LiveJournal with a certain icon so it's easy to recognize me.

Unfortunately, that means I don't have anything up for adoption right now. If I get my other computer set up on the internet again and have time, though, I'll probably start taking requests for custom icons. I don't have any way to make animated ones, though, so I don't know how popular I'd really be at that. I guess I wouldn't know unless I tried. Anyway, I'll be sure to let you know if I manage to get that together.

Cool, do let me know if you make any more, I would love to make a request. I remember when I switched over to Linux, I missed my Photoshop and millions of plugins. Gimp is great, but just not the same. Now I dual boot, and use Photoshop for all of my image alteration/icon making needs. :)
