hmm.....anyone up for this con?

Sean and I were talking and we're thinking about going to Sakura Con ( http://www.sakuracon.org/ ) this spring. Since he already lives in Seattle, I could just crash at his place, so it would be cheap to go. I'm just curious if anyone else is planning to go to this con. (Also, if you're one of those wacky real-life friends, if you would go with me. I think Sean doesn't want Random Internet People™ on his floor, but he doesn't mind one or two people I actually know.)

Right now we're trying to come up with a good idea for costumes....we're trying to think of a series that would be fun to dress up as that has a girl with long dark hair and a blond guy....

But that's during school, isn't it? :::checks calendars::: I wish I could go :( I've wanted to go ever since they made it lol (which was about 3 or 4 years ago I believe) I'm sure that it will be fun if you go, though. ^_^ Hm... characters with a blonde male lead... you could do Miki and Yuu from Marmalade Boy (although she has brown hair, not black), Sana and Akito from Child's Toy (although that's stretching it because his hair is almost orange and her's is brown lol), who else?... I had never noticed before but there really aren't that many males in anime with blonde hair *_* (females, yes, but males...) Maybe I'll be able to think of more later lol. Good luck. ^_^ If he was willing to dye his hair black or brown I could come up with many more characters for you to dress up as ^_~

I was thinking Tasuki, actually...but maybe his hair isn't actually blond, I'm just going by the manga (which really needs to get the next volume out, damn it...grr...slow tranlators...)

yeah......is your hair the type where it hangs on to fake dye, though? (on my hair it won't take at all, but I know some blonds have the opposite problem)

Well, my hair is brown, it's just really dark brown...

I thought about Marmalade Boy, but I decided against it for two reasons:
- School uniforms are kind of boring, as costumes go. I want weird pretty costumes!
- it would be kind of weird to cosplay that with an ex-boyfriend

That kind of also applies to child's toy (guh! why couldn't they just call the English translation of the manga that! whywhywhy), plus I couldn't look pre-teen if my life depended on it. ^_^;

Yeah, I never thought about the lack of blond guys before either, but now I'm having a lot of trouble thinking of them....it doesn't help that Sean has short hair, although maybe he could try to grow it out before April.......

Oh yeah, and it is during school. If the spring quarter schedule is anything like this quarter, my school doesn't really do friday classes, so I should be able to go as long as I plan ahead homework-wise. It does kind of put a damper on other people being able to go, though.....

Sad......maybe you could wear a wig for the con, instead. I can't realky wear wigs, because I have great gobs of hair I'd need to stuff under them somehow, but since you have a rational haircut you could probably wear one.....
