Yeah, none of the hospital people even mentioned a possible cause for the fainting (although I think the CT scan, MRI, and MRA were probably done partially to rule out possible causes). My doctor said the initial pain was probably an ovarian cyst, and the problem is that there isn't much that can actually be done about that. They just happen sometimes, and it hurts a lot when they rupture. I'm pretty stressed about the whole thing because my mother had both ovarian cysts and ovarian tumors, and that eventually lead to her needing her ovaries removed when she was only a year older than I am now, and I haven't had kids yet and want them so that wouldn't exactly be optimal. My doctor didn't have a ton of time to talk about it with me in the ER, but she said not much can be done to discourage cysts except that birth control might help. I suppose I need to do more research. I'm supposed to see my doctor again in about a month, so I'll talk to her about it more then.
